We have been in quarantine for the last 25 days and we are expected to stay in quarantine for at least another month. The circumstances and reasons for which we have to stay in quarantine are not the most ideal and I wish they were for less tragic reasons but I have to admit that at the beginning I was looking forward to quarantine. Us being in quarantine meant that we wouldn’t have to go to school and I was happy about that.
In the very beginning I spent most of my days in bed watching TV and sleeping in late. I was having a good time. Then halfway through our second week in quarantine I started going insane because even though we could leave our houses it was advised not to and to only go to places that were important, but stores and most places were still open. Then a couple of days later it was announced that quarantine would be extended till April 10th and then a couple of day’s after that they announced that everyone was expected to stay home and only leave their house if it was to go somewhere important like the grocery store. At that point a lot of people were told to work from home if they could and most stores started closing.
Our third week into quarantine I really was loosing my mind because at that point all I wanted to do was leave my house and go anywhere as long as it meant I wasn’t stuck inside that house any longer. I wanted to go outside and have some sort of social interaction with people that weren’t my family. At that point I was looking forward to going back to school just because it meant I would be able to leave my house and interact with people. Then it was announced that quarantine would be extended till may 4th and that if you were to leave the house for you to wear a face mask, and at that point I lost all hope of me ever leaving my house.
I feel you. 😔 It’s been crazy these past few weeks, I’m going a little insane too because of it. Just yesterday I was ecstatic to go pick up food with my dad just so I could get out of the house. I ended up just staying in the car the whole time while my dad got off, but it was enough to satisfy me. It goes to show how much we take for granted.. Thank goodness we live in an Age where we can still stay connected online, if not then I’d really lose it. Anywho, I hope you manage to cope with these feelings and stay both mentally and physically healthy, or at least okay at best. Try to hang in there. I believe in you! 🙂

You summed up quarantine quite well. I believe boredom is a good thing because when I get there, it pushes me on to do something, often something creative that I had not thought about before. I hope you can find the upside to boredom.
